Could a Lab/English Pointer mix be Brindle?

I'm getting a dog very soon, and my friend has one of his brothers. His brother looks just like an English Pointer witch make us believe he is. But the one I'm looking at is an all Brindle dog, we now for sure that the mom is a Lab, but we don't know if the dad is. So my question is, Could a Lab/Pointer mix be brindle?
