Sending a lemon pound cake to GA from CT...?

My grandparents sent me a lemon pound came for my graduation a few weeks ago, I'm in ga and they're in mo. I would suggest overnight shipping just because it's pretty hot down here and the longer it's en route the more likely it is to melt. My grandparents just used priority shipping and when it got here the icing was melted and on one side of the container. Then again that might be due to the fact that the douche bag mailman just left it at my door without ringing the doorbell AND he left it sideways even though the box said both fragile and perishable -_-
