Rar files on macbook?

hey, i have downloaded a setup from the internet. it came in parts like xxx.part3.rar . i joined them with hjsplit for macbook, then i had a large xxx.part1 file. i tried to open it by changing part1 to .dmg but i failed. please help me. thank you.
