Ret paladin or Deathknight (wow)?

I'm trying to decided which class to play next season i enjoy playing my fully geared out warrior, but i need another class i'm stuck between a Dk or ret paladin. plz explain which does more dmg and the one's you prefer if you were going to get far next season or patch 4.2
